1/2cupunsalted butter, softened to room temperature
1/4cupgranulated sugar
1/4cuppacked light or dark brown sugar
1teaspoonpure vanilla extract
1/4teaspoonfine sea salt
1/2cupmini chocolate chips
1/4cupchopped nuts (e.g., walnuts or pecans, optional)
2–3tablespoonsmilk (add as needed for consistency)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the all-purpose flour evenly on a baking sheet. Bake for 5-7 minutes, stirring halfway through, ensuring it is heat-treated thoroughly to eliminate any bacteria. Once done, let it cool slightly.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium speed, beat the mixture until it is creamy and well blended, scrapping down the bowl as needed.
Pour in the vanilla extract and sprinkle in the salt. Mix again briefly until the ingredients are combined.
Gradually add the cooled, baked flour into the wet mixture while mixing on low speed. Stop once just combined. If the dough appears too crumbly, add milk one tablespoon at a time, mixing until you achieve a smooth, cohesive dough.
Carefully fold the mini chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using) into the dough with a spatula, ensuring they are uniformly distributed throughout.
Using a small cookie scoop or your hands, form small balls of dough about one inch in diameter. Arrange them neatly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes to allow the cookie dough bites to firm up for easier handling.
After chilling, enjoy the bliss bites right away or transfer them to an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to a week.
Notes
For an appealing display, serve the cookie dough bites on a decorative platter. Elevate their charm by drizzling some melted chocolate over them or rolling them in crushed nuts or colorful sprinkles for a delightful touch!
