1poundBrussels sprouts, carefully trimmed and halved
1/4cuppure maple syrup
2tablespoonsolive oil
1teaspoonbalsamic vinegar
1/2teaspoongarlic powder
to tasteSalt and freshly ground black pepper
1/4cupchopped walnuts (optional)
1tablespoonfresh thyme leaves, chopped (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for roasting.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts with the olive oil, maple syrup, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss everything thoroughly until the Brussels sprouts are evenly coated with the mixture.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup, then spread the coated Brussels sprouts in a single, even layer across the sheet.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the Brussels sprouts for 20 to 25 minutes. Make sure to stir them halfway through for even roasting, until they become beautifully caramelized and tender.
If you've opted to use walnuts, sprinkle the chopped nuts over the Brussels sprouts during the last 5 minutes of roasting.
Once done, remove the baking sheet from the oven. Before serving, sprinkle the roasted sprouts with fresh thyme.
Notes
Serve in a rustic bowl or platter, garnished with additional thyme leaves.
